I read in the Vancouver Sun that Brown will probably be waived today for the purpose of sending him down to Manitoba. Obviously both Gillis and Vigneault are concerned about that considering McIvor was already claimed the other day. But it sounds like Rypien has beat out both Cowan and Brown for that final spot on the fourth line. Nothings been announced yet, but it sounds like its a sure thing.

I'm under the impression Davison is locked in as the 7th d-man. If the last couple of seasons have showed me anything, the fact this defense corps is so prone to injury lends proof that the Canucks want guys with NHL experience on the depth chart in the seventh spot who can step in no problem - Nycholat has been good, but only has a handful of NHL games under his belt for a guy who's now 30 years old. I think Davison is here to stay and Nycholat will be sent to Manitoba very quickly now that we have some toughness to replace him if he's claimed by another team. Just my two cents, but from what I've read and seen this is all very likely to happen.

Thanks for the info on Brown, guys. Honestly, I'd prefer him over Rypien, although I am a fan of both.

I also hope to see Davison stay, Eric. Either way, Gillis has really made a concerted effort to add depth to this team, which I like a lot.

As someone who watched Krajicek while he was with the Panthers, I am basically disgusted and befuddled in reaction to this trade. Just, plain and simple, STUPIDITY.

Now I would have taken a sack of used jock straps for Ouellet, but for a guy we paid a 1st round pick for (which was a DEAL), we get 2 guys I've never heard of... This is not a Lightning team... this franchise was built on tough, gritty hockey. We have two guys left from our Cup team and absolutely no heart. This is going to be another year when Vinny leads the team in scoring and FMs, if he doesn't get murdered first...
