I read in the Vancouver Sun that Brown will probably be waived today for the purpose of sending him down to Manitoba. Obviously both Gillis and Vigneault are concerned about that considering McIvor was already claimed the other day. But it sounds like Rypien has beat out both Cowan and Brown for that final spot on the fourth line. Nothings been announced yet, but it sounds like its a sure thing.

From the Vancouver Sun's Elliot Pap:

I'm under the impression Davison is locked in as the 7th d-man. If the last couple of seasons have showed me anything, the fact this defense corps is so prone to injury lends proof that the Canucks want guys with NHL experience on the depth chart in the seventh spot who can step in no problem - Nycholat has been good, but only has a handful of NHL games under his belt for a guy who's now 30 years old. I think Davison is here to stay and Nycholat will be sent to Manitoba very quickly now that we have some toughness to replace him if he's claimed by another team. Just my two cents, but from what I've read and seen this is all very likely to happen.

Thanks for the info on Brown, guys. Honestly, I'd prefer him over Rypien, although I am a fan of both.

I also hope to see Davison stay, Eric. Either way, Gillis has really made a concerted effort to add depth to this team, which I like a lot.

Well guys, i'm about ready to either kill someone or myself.

As someone who watched Krajicek while he was with the Panthers, I am basically disgusted and befuddled in reaction to this trade. Just, plain and simple, STUPIDITY.

But at least Ouellet is gone....

I will not go to another Bolts game until they pull their collective heads out of their asses. **** THIS ****

You took the thoughts of my brain. I literally feel like my head is about to explode. Complete and utter stupidity. I can't even believe this **** is happening. It is like a nightmare.

But to be positive, congrats Nucks fans. You made out huge on this deal, and i think you'll be very happy with OB. If only the Lightning weren't so RETARDED.

Someone pass me a bottle of 'Jack'.

Thrillhouse is a Coiler/Flamer/Laffs fan. You're thinking of Humpzilla.

Wow, Tampa always seems to find a way to screw something up. I mean seriously, O'Brien for Krajicek? And then throwing in some worthless, soft, no-skilled Russian? Stupid, stupid trade for Tampa.

Nice deal for the 'Nucks.

So much for that tough as nails line-up the Lightning preached all summer. Dissapointed in Barry so far.

just when i thought it couldnt get more stupid....
I have lost all respect ive had for the organization and i wouldnt be surprised to see vinny or marty leave for gods sake
all their friends are gone now pretty much
the fact that we got rid of obrien alone is stupid, but personally id rather have either him or oullet over either player we acquired
I hope theyll be happy with having a team that will most likely get pushed around by the Leafs

I'll be saving a lot of money this hockey season, because even though i love the team, this is not a Lightning team... Scrap opening night plans, and I don't even know if I'll be getting out to any games at all, unless they're free, because this is not a product I will pay for... I can support my boys from home with a remote control...
For guys like me and Hump, this is the last straw... F*CK this new ownership group, **** the front office, and **** the coach who must not have fought this move hard enough, if at all... Shane was one of the last things this team really had going as far as willing and talented fighters, and even he was rusty from being on a leash all last season. This team is as soft as a used tampon, which apparently the bitch executives just pulled out of their cavernous vaginas...
Hump IMed me with the news, as I've been busy all day... I was hoping it was his sick way of getting a 6 month jump on April Fools Day... instead its more like a f*cking nightmare. Now I would have taken a sack of used jock straps for Ouellet, but for a guy we paid a 1st round pick for (which was a DEAL), we get 2 guys I've never heard of... This is not a Lightning team... this franchise was built on tough, gritty hockey. We have two guys left from our Cup team and absolutely no heart. This is going to be another year when Vinny leads the team in scoring and FMs, if he doesn't get murdered first...
I don't know what else can be said... f*ck this...
-X
