Canucks Acquire Sean Brown
Vancouver, B.C. - Vancouver Canucks Senior Vice-President and General Manager Dave Nonis announced today that defenceman Sean Brown has been acquired from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
Brown, 29, has played in 35 games with New Jersey this season recording 12 points (1-11-12) and 27 penalty minutes. The nine year NHL veteran has recorded 14 goals, 43 assists, 57 points and 899 penalty minutes in 424 career regular season games. In nine NHL playoff games he has also posted 37 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-3, 215 pound native of Oshawa, Ontario, was originally selected by the Boston Bruins in the first round, 21st overall in the 1995 Entry Draft. Throughout his career, Brown has played for three NHL teams, including the Bruins, Devils and Edmonton Oilers.

While I'm certainly not complaining about the Canucks getting a guy like Brown it still doesn't make a lot of sense to me. They get Brown for a 4th round pick when they could've got a better defenseman in Todd Simpson which Montreal got for a 6th round pick. I'd much rather have Simpson...
