MONTREAL – The Montreal Canadiens announced Wednesday that forwards Matt D’Agostini and Gregory Stewart have been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. Both players will be practicing with the team tomorrow at the Bell Centre.

D’Agostini, 21, ranks second in scoring amongst the Bulldogs with 47 points in 70 games (20 goals, 27 assists). He also racked up 32 penalty minutes. D’Agostini, a 6-foot, 200-pound right winger from Sault-Ste-Marie, Ontario was selected in the sixth round by the Canadiens, 190th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. He completed his second season with the Bulldogs.

Gregory Stewart, 21, played in 69 games in his rookie season with the Bulldogs. He recorded 16 points (10 goals, 6 assists) and led the team with 137 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 202-pound forward native of Kitchener, Ontario was drafted in the eighth round by the Canadiens, 246th overall, in 2004.

he himself said he did not want time off because the way they play will be the way the team will go in the playoffs, and he would miss the game too much.

Both players recalled thought it was a prank, D'Agostini is replacing Michael Ryder, Stewart is not in the lineup.
