If Gauthier is fired, maybe.

I'd simply acquire two guys on the UFA market this off-season, you keep Moen and Staubitz, you also keep White with the team, you acquire a player like Shawn Thornton or George Parros on the UFA market for your 4th line and you acquire a defenseman like Matt Carkner as your 7th Dman that you could put in your line up against tough teams. You bury Gomez in the AHL, you let Campoli go away. Nokelainen, Blunden, etc, in the AHL. Line up next year:

Max Pacioretty - David Desharnais - Erik Cole
Rene Bourque - Tomas Plekanec - Brian Gionta
Blake Geoffrion - Lars Eller - Travis Moen
Brad Staubitz - Ryan White - George Parros (or whatever the player, it may be anyone else)

Andrei Markov - Tomas Kaberle
Josh Gorges - P.K. Subban
Raphaël Diaz - Alexei Emelin
Matt Carkner

Carey Price
Peter Budaj

Here we go.

I cannot help but notice that you are approaching 2500 posts... Hal Gill was a much bigger trade bait for Mtl than AK46 as can be PROVEN by their trades'. I am happy that you patrol for the Habs, but really you are like a literary Kostopoulous for the Habs. Basically everyone apprerciates your courage but everyone is a little weary of your effectiveness. Keep up the effort but ultimately it would be appreciated if you could tone down your post-rate.

Thanks,

A Devoted Habs Fan

What are you trying to prove exactly? Hal Gill and Andrei Kostitsyn have nothing to do in this thread, and if you have something to tell me, you can let a visitor's message on my profile.

Here we go.

You won't have Staubitz and a Parros on the same team. Sorry, MTL just won't do that.

We'll be lucky to keep Moen, Staubitz and White on this team, and playing all three every game.

He really should have been re-signed, he was beloved in Montreal.

staubitz was a great mid year pick up for the Habs. really help set the tone. It helped the Habs not be so soft and helped staubitz career as it looked to have started a fire under him again. you guys got brandon Prust.....jsut as good of a fighter (maybe not as much punching power) but he fights more and is a better player.

Not to mention more willing:

MacIntyre vs. Staubitz [Stuabitz ran away and...

MacIntyre vs. Prust

That said, thank god the Canadiens finally got a presence in Staubitz last season. Sure, he's only 6'2 210 on a good day, but he's usually pretty willing and a solid MW to LHW and an ENFORCER, something that disappeared entirely after Laraque.

Also, Throwdown, I think being sent to the minors by the Wild lit the fire under him but getting a second chance with a new team showcased that.

I meant enforcer by Montreal Canadiens standards. Seriously, though, that's probably not the best term to use, but MW-LHW.

By new NHL standards, Brad Staubitz is a LHW. Tim Jackman's and Cody McCormick's category.

Staubitz can enforce. He used to ride shotgun to a HW but not anymore. He is labeled as an enforcer now. You better believe it.

Any MAN signing by Montreal is cool. Now they can throw bare knuckles at Thorton and Lucic
