Canadiens Call Up Mathieu Carle

MONTREAL– The Montreal Canadiens announced today that defenseman Mathieu Carle has been called up from the AHL Hamilton Bulldogs.

Carle, 22, played in 11 games this season with the Bulldogs. He registered 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists), with a +2 rating and 10 penalty minutes.

The 6’00’’, 203 lbs defenseman participated in his fourth training camp with the Canadiens last September. He played in four of the club’s seven preseason games, before being assigned to the Bulldogs on September 29.

Carle played in 59 games with the Bulldogs in 2008-09. He registered 29 points (7 goals, 22 assists), posted a +10 plus/minus differential and totalled 43 penalty minutes.

Carle was selected in the second round by the Canadiens (third pick – 53rd overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.

Hey, Gill was doing alright for a guy that was plagued by this injury. He was steady. Carle is worse. As is MAB. And they're playing together. Not good.

Carle is fragile and kinda sucks. Should have called up Belle or try Subban. Belle is the most NHL ready of them all though. Aside from Henry, but he's still injured.
