Carkner was coming off an injury and was rusty.

Either way, I'm not a fan of Lucic. I think he's an overrated, over paid spot picking cheap dirty player.

Is just my opinion....

Considering Zett is getting over $7.7 million the next couple years, I somewhat agree, but one poster said the cap hit was $6 million per, so I ran with that. For all we know, Looch is getting $5.25 the first two years, then $7.5.

6 mill per does seem like alot, but the extension is based on potential and future performance also. Looch will no doubt see an increase in scoring chances on a first line centered by Seguin, and that's not too far off in the future. As far as lower cap,bye bye Krejci,Savard on long term IR,and Thomas traded to a team that needs to reach the cap bottom floor number. Chiarelli's got it under control,he knows what he's doing. And really, how much is a power forward who scores 30+ and occasionally takes on another teams heavy worth nowadays? Valuable commodity i think.

Loooch is a good player and we need more of his type player in the league for sure

However that contract is 2 much damn $$ imo, (it really is on the high side) even with his numbers "possibly" increasing its still 2 much $$ for his production and value.. Good for him though, and the owners just cant help themselves

Lockout #3 here we come.............................................. ..........

Maybe you should watch a game and see the circumstance that surrounded the fights and not just look at his fight card. Because the Melicar and Ruutu fights were not a case of "spot picking" as you call it. But then again, you have stated you hate him so it's probably a lost cause.

A bit high in my opinion, but obviously the B's thought he was worth it. B's fans gotta be excited to have him for another 3 years. Hate the Bruins, but he's the type of player we need more of in the league.

I'm happy for the guy. He is the type of player I'd love to have on the Habs. However he is way overpayed (and not the only one this off season)

The NHL wonders why it is in trouble, and here you have GMs throwing money around like its candy.

Injuries are no excuse.

You also sound like one those people that when someone on your team loses the fight you have to explain to everyone why they did. What was the reason why Dorsett got crushed by Kaleta?

Dorsett didn't lose that fight with Kaleta. He beat the hell out of Kaletas hand with his face, which was he plan all along.

How can you compare Dorsett to Lucic? Unlike Lucic, Dorsett isn't afraid to fight guys out of his weight class, ala John Scott.

$6 million is too much money but the reality is on the open market other teams would offer just as much (if not more). Lucic is such a fan favorite the Bruins couldn't afford to let him go.

I could care less if he's overpaid. He was going to get a ridiculous contract regardless if he hit the open market....player like Lucic don't grow on trees. He's also not useless like other overpaid players if he's not scoring.

I get a chuckle out of the customary Lucic haters, I guess the Bruins 1st line winger is supposed to fight every team's plug goon.

Meh, he aint that good. This team is going to implode soon when Chara's back starts to go out and a reduced cap possibly gets put in place. Exciting times to be a Bruin fan. Atleast its only for 3 years and not these life timers.

Patrick Kane - $6.3 million
Jonathan Toews - $6.3
Sedin bros - $6.1 million
John Tavares - $5.5 million
Henrik Zetterberg - $6.1 million
Erik Karlsson - $6.5 million
Ryan Miller - $6.25 million

Sorry, but all of those guys are not barely worth more than Lucic. The Bruins overpaid him, and better hope the cap doesn't plummet when the lockout ends.
There are more of "those types" of players in the league than there are like Lucic. He's a good player, and can bring an entirely different element that none of the players you listed can match. In a game turning as p*ssy as the NHL is, guys like Lucic are more of a commodity now than ever.

The Bruins overpaid for him, but not as significantly as some of you are making it out to be. It's not like he's a 3 million dollar player who just doubled his salary. He (in today's game) is likely in the 4.5 to 5 million dollar range. To get him locked up at 6 is a lot, but it's not ridiculous. And certainly not as ridiculous as the numbers he would have seen if he was a UFA.

Maybe 1 million too much but that's nothing. Milan Lucic is pretty much a unique player. How many 30 goals scorer can drop the mitts with heavyweights?

I would be glad if my team could get a guy like Lucic for 6 millions. Or like Clowe for 5 millions.

Well deserved raise, probably a bit too high, ah well. although his skill is slightly overrated and he's a spot picker, I like him, also, Vancouver boy even though he'll never f**king play here now.
