Bruins Sign Anthony Camara to Entry-Level Contract

Boston, MA - Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today, March 14, that the club has signed forward Anthony Camara to an entry-level contract.

In 48 games this year with the Barrie Colts (OHL), Camara has registered 36 goals and 24 assists with a +17 rating and a team high 80 penalty minutes. Camara’s 36 goals are second on the team (11th in the OHL) and his 1.25 points per game average ranks third on the Colts squad. Camara’s 36 goals and 24 assists (60 points) are all career highs.

Camara has skated in 243 games at the OHL level, compiling 66 goals, 56 assists with 443 penalty minutes. In 31 OHL playoff games, Camara has registered three goals and five assists with 52 penalty minutes. The forward also represented Team Canada at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship in Russia recording two assists and a +1 rating through six games.

The 6’0’’ 190-pound native of Toronto, Ontario was drafted in the third round (81 overall) by the Boston Bruins in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.

My only surprise is it took this long. He's had a real breakout season this year and is a prototypical B's player, you guys will love him. Cody Payne is a similar player in the OHL who is also coming along well.

Camara also came from a pretty rough upbringing here in Toronto so he's a nice story as well.

Bruins/Leafs games should be fun for years to come.

He made a name for himself a couple years ago after being drafted, when at rookie camp, said he'd be looking for Looch on the ice. Wanted to challenge him. This after Looch hoisting Lord Stanley a few months prior. Pretty big balls. Anyways, great to see this kid aboard.

This kid is the real deal. Can't ****ing wait to see him in Providence and Boston.

God, I hope he never sees any time in Providence... If he's as good as the numbers suggest and as people are saying, he should be starting right now!

Camara was on our wish list at the OHL trade deadline , was hopeing the Knights would make an offer for him , he is the real deal , nice to see the Bruins sign him , he will make the team in the next couple years , love what he brings to the ice ..

No offense, but why the hell would the Colts have traded him? They've been hovering around the top of the East all season and have been contenders from the outset
