Get well soon, Shawn.

Gentlemen,

I echo your sentiments.

One of the biggest mistakes the Blackhawks made was not keeping this young man. I have always felt he is a class act. He is a warrior type player and to me he could have played in any era.

Wish him a quick and complete recovery.

Hopefully, the cobwebs clear quickly for Thort's. I think 99% of the posters on this site respect him, even if they hate the Bruins. He's a class act & a solid fighter. He was out-matched in this one, but if anybody can come back from a beating like that it'll be Thornton.

Damn. I hope it's not serious and that he is only out 7-10 days. I have nothing but respect for him. Dude's got balls the size of coconuts.

I gained a lot of respect for Scott too. I saw an interview with him about the fight. He said he went over to see how Thornton was.

It's not the Buins as much as the damn fans!

Hope Thonton is back soon as well, he's always entertaining.

They will regardless. They always find a reason to bitch and moan about fighting. In fact I don't believe they are capable of not complaining and whining about something.

...this should never have happened --- Thornton shouldn't have been the one taking-on Scott. Moments like THIS are when Chara's GOT to step-up,...

Hats off to Thorton for always giving the fans and his teammates everything he's got. While I hope he has a speedy recovery, I can't help but be concerned about a 35 year old guy with over 200 NHL fights getting (another) concussion.

Shawn should be alright, I seen guys get hammered way worse
then what Scott did. Not many guys can match up well with Scott.
Big Mac is more along the lines of guys evenly matched with him.
Thorts was doing his job,he does it well. Can't win them all and
sometimes you see the coo coo birds, part of the territory.
Keep your head up Thorts, you are a real warrior brother!

Thornton is the enforcer. That's his job, not Charas. You don't need to be a giant to fight him... just ask Orr.

Are you saying that because they are similar in size that Chara should just do what he typically does and wrestle Scott down, or are you suggesting he stand in and trade punches?

If the Bruins don't take liberties or play dirty Scott probably won't see the ice. It's up to them.

Everyone loses... he is a great player, remember watching him when I was a kid he was a St. John's Maple Leaf. He has come along way. Never thought he would make it but he has improved immensely since then especially his skating and angles.
