Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled goaltender
Hannu Toivonen from the
Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League (AHL). He will be joining the team in Montreal tomorrow for their game against the Canadiens tomorrow night.
Toivonen, who is in his fourth year with the Bruins organization, has played 16 games for Boston this season, posting a record of 3-7-1 and a goals-against average of 4.42. His most recent outing came on February 24 in no decision relief of Tim Thomas in the Bruins 7-2 loss to the
Florida Panthers in Sunrise, Florida.
Toivonen has appeared in 23 games for Providence this season. He has a record of 11-12-0 and a goals-against average of 2.36 with the AHL club. He has also tallied one assist.
