Boston Bruins General Manager Peter Chiarelli announced today that the club has recalled Mikko Lehtonen from the
Providence Bruins on an emergency basis. Lehtonen will join the Bruins for their morning skate on Thursday, November 5 and be available for the team’s game against the Canadiens Thursday night at 7:00 p.m. (TV: NESN, RADIO: 98.5 The Sports Hub).
Lehtonen has put up 3-7=10 totals and 25 penalty minutes in 11 games for the P-Bruins this year. He led Providence in goals last season with 28 and finished fourth overall in scoring with 53 points in 72 AHL games. He made his NHL debut with Boston last year on April 11, 2009 against the
Buffalo Sabres, the lone NHL appearance in his career to date.
The 6’5’’, 203-pound Espoo, Finland native was originally drafted by the Bruins in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
