Who are you kidding. Not one of those clowns even looked at Cammalleri when they played MTL, what makes you think they would confront Briere?? Bunch of gutless clowns on this team.

You swing your stick like a bitch, you deserve to be treated like a bitch. Nice to see no typical double standard on this and the league dispense a fair sized suspension to one of the more skilled players. 3 sounds just about right to me...

for anyone saying he shoulda gotten a season your a retard. Only reason he should be getting a suspension is because he's a repeat offender, that i can agree with. I hate high sticks myself but that high stick did no damage at all, worse case hit him in the side of the helmet or the visor no damage done at all. I've seen worse high sticks go uncalled and deffinatly not suspended. IF you call someone out for a season for a high stick like that, hossa should have been kicked out of the nhl for his high stick on berard (you know the one where he almost lost his eye). Nilson shouldnt have been running his mouth and picking a fight with one of philly's star players especially when he;s got from the looks of it 4 inches and prob 30+ pounds on the guy, who the **** is this nobody(neilson)? He should have tried that with carcillo, shelly or even richards they would have beat the **** out of him. Honestly out of principle neilson deserved a high stick to the face, ****ty move out of briere though but i guess everyone got what they deserved

I am going to the game on Saturday and was hoping to see Briere back in the lineup. Sad news.

Funny post.

Frans Nilson is 6'0 187 lbs. Not exactly a beast. And certainly not 4 inches taller and 30 lbs heavier. I see nothing wrong with the skill guys going at each other. Does anyone have a problem with that? It just shows that both teams are really into it.

Awesome. Just watched Briere in an interview say that his intentions were to protect himself because he didn't know what the crazed animal Frans Nielson would do. Then he went on to describe how Nielson punched him in the back of the head earlier in the game; sounded like a kid responding to a punishment from his mommy. Good for Danny, stand by your word brother.

i am surprised that Briere got more then one game to be honest, not that i think he shouldn't have been suspended at all, he's just more of a star player that's what i was thinking.

3 is about right...

Here are my two conclusions:

1) Briere remains a total douche - anybody that denies that doesn't get the game

2) The entire Islanders team needs to be really, really, really embarassed by this and learn to have each other's backs... it's going to be a really, really, really long season for Islanders fans if they don't.

*** The Oilers might lose every game this year... but at least they are going down fighting most night... Giordano hit Hall the other night and Fraser came off the fu*king bench to fight him... and Fraser licks

Islanders need some team guys... guys like Ethan Moreau, Shane Doan... They need some chemistry and PRIDE... it used to mean something to wear an Islanders jersey.
