Brian Boucher is Back For The Finals

Quote:
Brian Boucher's season looked like it was over after he sprained both knees during the Philadelphia Flyers' second-round series against the Boston Bruins. Less than three weeks later, it sounds as though the goaltender will be suiting up for the Stanley Cup Final.

Boucher, who was in agonizing pain after teammate Ryan Parent fell on his legs during Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, practiced Friday at United Center on the eve of Game 1 against the Chicago Blackhawks. Boucher says nothing is official, but he's "99 percent" sure he'll be backing up Michael Leighton Saturday night (8 p.m. ET, NBC, CBC, RDS).

"Medically I'm ready to go," Boucher said. "If it doesn't happen it will be a coach's decision, but I don't anticipate that being the case."

Boucher looked sharp and confident during his third-straight practice since suffering the injury on May 10 -- an injury so severe that at the moment it happened he believed his season was over.

With the way the year has gone, Boosh should be back in goal in the middle of the 3rd game after Leighton breaks his arm on a Ben Eager slap shot.

So now the Flyers that have two of their (seven?) goalies on the season healthy, and as luck would have it, it's the two that have defied all expectations thus far. Who do you start with? No way you sit Leighton after outduelling Halak, IMO.
