I'd love to see him land in Vancouver - but I believe Tampa is looking for goaltending help NOW for Richards, and while we have a good goalie prospect in Cory Schneider, he won't be ready for a couple years yet.

If Dallas is offering Mike Smith, then that could be the deciding factor as to where Richards lands.

Its going to be an interesting day tomorrow.

id take him if he wasnt 7.8 mil dollars a year. from what i hear hes been playing with wingers like jan hlavac and jason ward. against the rangers a while ago i saw him and he must have set hlavac up for 5 amazing scoring chances, and hlavac barely hit the net on 2 of them. its hard to put up points when you have AHL caliber wingers on your line.

I heard a rumor that Columbus was considering trading Brule to Tampa in exchange for Richards.

Columbus would be a good fit for Richards they don't need to move anyone to free up cap space.

Tampa would need more than Smith for Richards wouldn't they? Plus, they don't have much room under the cap for Richards' huge $7.8 mil hit for the rest of the year and especially next year. Smith and Boucher maybe? Boucher just came back from his injury and he makes $4 million.

Columbus makes more sense.

Columbus offered Brule, Fritsche and Tollefsen for Richards. They really want him..

But I guess Richards ends up in Dallas for a goaltender and another player unless the offer from Columbus is too good to resist, I would say it was a damn good offer.

Tampa is a crap team, but I don't think Tollefsen and the others would mind sunny Florida

I have heard of two offers from Dallas, not sure which one is legit.

One is Mike Smith, Mark Fistric, and Jeff Halpern for Richards, which seems on par with the other offers on the table.

However, I also heard that Dallas might have offered the above PLUS Jussi Jokinen for Richards, in which case their offer blows all the others out of the water.

Jeeez, Id hate to see Jokinen go. The more I think about the Richards trade, the more I become skeptical, and it's all based on his huge salary. Oh well, we'll see.
