Brad May To Retire
Brad May was on FAN 590 AM Toronto earlier today and said he expects to retire this season, saying his body doesnt feel up to the task of playing anymore and he wants to be with his family.
One of the last of the true NHL warriors and will always go down in the hockeyfights HOF at the very least.

Congrats to Brad on a great career. I can definitely see him back in the game in a few years in some capacity.
'May day' was one of the great all time goals/play by play calls..

Too bad he had to waste the end of his career in Detroit
Best of luck to ya, Brad!

That's just the way it's going to go." |

Im sure Krys Barch will send him an "enjoy your retirement" card soon enough.
Those guys had a couple of nice little scraps over the past couple yrs.

I'll await an official announcement before I post all my thoughts abiout May - one of my fave players of all time and in my top 5 all time fave Canucks as well. Loved May-Day, the energy he brought to the rink, his exciting fights, and he could chip in offensively too - great team guy, every club needs a Brad May on it.
This was probably expected, so it comes as no surprise, but its still a little sad nonetheless. Glad to see him win a Cup with Anaheim back in 2007.

May retires...
Thank you and congratulations to Brad May, as he truly deserves it. Talk about a true warrior who lasted long beyond the time most would have given him, post lockout. I am sure not all will agree, but I believe Brad was an entertaining player and a great teamate who played for the crest on his jersey, no matter who the team he played for was. Wish there were more like him in todays game. Take care and enjoy life after hockey; although I can definitely see him in a coaching role sometime soon. Maybe not the Show, but coaching somewhere shortly.
