Bobby Ryan Suspended Two Games
TORONTO – Anaheim Ducks forward Bobby Ryan has been suspended two games for a kicking incident against Nashville Predators defenseman Jonathon Blum in Game #2 of their Western Conference quarterfinal series on April 15.
"The actions by Ryan were both reckless and dangerous," said NHL Senior Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell. "While it was fortunate there was no injury to Blum on the play, the act of using your skate in this manner is unacceptable." The incident occurred at 16:35 of the third period. No penalty was assessed on the play. Ryan will miss Game 3 and 4 of the series.

Good decision. Can't have that going on unpunished. Was worried nothing would happen since it didn't result in injury.

Was hoping only one game, but oh well.
Anyone remember how many games Shayne Corson got for kicking Eric Cairns back in 2002? I know he was out for Game 7, but I don't remember if he got anymore time.

one of the dirtier plays I've seen in a while. All you people need to stop bitching about the Stoll hit, if White wasn't hunched over it would have been just like every other hit that came from behind the nets in the game.

NHL as usual doesn't know what the heck they are doing. Both plays were dangerous and they both should have received much more than they got. Skates are sharp and you can easily sever tendons and permanently cripple someone, it wasw a deliberate act not a last millisecond decision, he purposedly stomped on someone. At least 10 games. Idiots running this league.

No justification for something like that. He knew what he was doing. Despicable play, and I would have liked to see a longer suspension. Hard to argue that the league doesn't have a double-standard when stuff like this happens.
