Blues Sign Martin Rucinsky
ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has signed free agent forward Martin Rucinsky.
“In Martin, we have added a veteran goal scorer with proven leadership skills to our line-up today,” said Davidson. “We are happy to have an opportunity to acquire a player of Martin’s ability and look forward to his second stint with the St. Louis Blues.” Rucinsky, 35, was a point-a-game player last season with the New York Rangers, recording 55 points (16 goals, 39 assists) in 52 games. He has registered 20-plus goals in four of his 14 NHL seasons and 40-plus points on five occasions. The 6-1, 207-pound forward posted NHL career-highs in all offensive categories, points (75), goals (29) and assists (46) during the 1995-96 season with Montreal and Colorado. The Most, Czech Republic native has appeared in 869 career NHL games during his 14-year NHL career, amassing 563 points (224 goals, 339 assists) along with 733 penalty minutes. He was originally Edmonton’s second selection, 20th overall, in the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. |
