Blues recall Tyson Strachan on emergency basis

ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League announced that they have recalled former Las Vegas Wranglers® defenseman Tyson Strachan under emergency conditions from the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League.

The Alaska Aces are the ECHL affiliate of the Blues of the NHL and the Rivermen of the AHL. The head coach of the Rivermen is Davis Payne, who was the 2007 ECHL Coach of the Year.

The 24 year old was selected to the ECHL All-Star Game as a rookie in 2007-08, but was unable to play in the game after signing on Jan. 2 with Peoria where he had three points (1g-2a) and 61 penalty minutes in 34 games.

Strachan had nine points (2g-7a) and 68 penalty minutes in 25 regular season games and four assists and 12 penalty minutes in 16 Kelly Cup Playoff games while helping the Wranglers advance to the Kelly Cup Finals.
