In yesterday's game against Los Angeles, both
Jay McKee and
Dan Hinote suffered injuries that would put them out for a while.
Matt Walker has been recalled to help
Jamie Rivers fill in McKee's spot, and Senja has been recalled under emergency conditions to fill in for Hinote at forward. The Blues didn't have any other forwards on the team, so that's why it's under "emergency conditions".
This is good news for fight fans. Now that McKee has gone down for the third time this year, maybe Walker will get a chance to play. Murray better play Walker over Rivers, but that's doubtful. But, at least there is a better chance for him to play. The Blues play a tough Phoenix team tomorrow so let's hope that Murray dresses Walker. They need an enforcer in the lineup.
It's also nice to see Peter Sejna get a chance in the NHL. He's not a fighter or anything, just a skill player. He was second on the team in points for Peoria, so he's been having a great year in the AHL. Hopefully he can contribute up here in the NHL and help put some pucks in the net for the Blues, who have been on fire lately. As a Blues fan I was happy to hear that these two have been recalled. I know both of them are dying for a chance to play in the NHL. Murray better not put Walker in the pressbox.
