You are correct. It's not as easy to say, "oh this guy is on waivers and my team could use him let's go get him". A similar thing happened last season (either last or the one previous) when the Penguins put Mark Recchi on waivers. The Hurricanes were ready to take him. Our GM Jim Rutherford even came out publicly and said a guy like Recchi, who helped win us a Cup, would be the perfect stop gap to the injuries in our top 6. However at that point the Canes were tops in the division. The Lightning got a crack at him first and snatched him up.

Even still, I doubt that Dale Tallon has had any interest in some of the players that made it to waivers this year. He's content with other teams players hurting their fists on the back of Adam Burish's head.

Atlanta claimed Recchi off re-entry. Tampa Bay signed him this year.

Nice.

The Blues sure are tough! I love how they sign a lot of fighters to build a tough team. John Davidson is awesome!

We're pretty stacked now with Koci, Janssen, Crombeen, Hinote, Backes, Jackman, Stastny, and Tkachuk.

And since the Blues don't win many games - at least they're tough and fight a lot. That's the one good thing about our team. They're fun to watch because of that.

Wow, Wes McSnipes no longer has any reason to be angry!

Blues know how to sell tickets and make money. They may not be Stanley Cup contenders as of right now, but the arena is gonna be full every game.

You are absolutely correct. Don't know why I forgot that. But it's the same deal, nonetheless.

Even if the Blues are losing at the moment, the front office is sure looking smart. They have made some great pick-ups so far. Nice to see BJ get a shot somewhere else.

I'm glad someone claimed him, just wish he would have gone to a softer team.

Blues toughened again one player. Glad someone catch B.J.Crombeen. Maybe him earned some more icetime too new team and since of this pick-up the Blues don't win many games - at least they're tough and fight often. Look at their roster, now included Koci, Janssen, Crombeen, Hinote, Backes, Jackman and Tkachuk.

I don't usually bump threads, but after Crombeens four point night last night. He has sure made the Blues look smart for claiming him. He is playing great hockey. I'm sure Dallas could use Crombeen to replace Avery.

I know what your saying this being a fight site but you cant really say the Blues are doing a better job with personnel than the Hawks or Wings right now can you? Unless GMs are trying to build teams strictly to fight.
