Blues Assign Four to Peoria

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Blues President John Davidson announced today the club has assigned Jason Bacashihua, David Backes, D.J. King and Roman Polak to the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen.

Bacashihua, 24, played in 19 games with the Blues this season and recorded a 3-7-3 record. He posted a 3.15 goals against average along with a .888 save percentage. Bacashihua has played in 16 games with the Rivermen this season, registering a 4-9-2 record, a 3.24 goals against average along with a .875 save percentage. The Garden City, Michigan native was originally drafted by Dallas in the first round, 26th overall in the 2001 Entry Draft.

Backes, 22, made his NHL debut with the Blues this season on Dec. 19 at Pittsburgh. He played in 49 games, recording 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) along with 37 penalty minutes. The Minneapolis, Minnesota native was originally drafted by St. Louis in the second round, 62nd overall in the 2003 Entry Draft.

King, 23, made his NHL debut with the Blues this season on Oct. 5 at San Jose. He played in 27 games, registering two points (one goal, one assist) along with 52 penalty minutes. King has played in 35 games with the Rivermen this season, notching seven points (three goals, four assists) and 102 penalty minutes. The Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan native was originally drafted by St. Louis in the sixth round, 190th overall in the 2002 Entry Draft.

Polak, 20, also made his NHL debut with the Blues this season on Oct. 9 at Anaheim. He played in 19 games, tallying 19 penalty minutes. Polak has played in 49 games with Peoria, recording 12 points (four goals, eight assists) along with 62 penalty minutes. The Ostrava, Czech Republic native was originally drafted by St. Louis in the sixth round, 180th overall in the 2004 Entry Draft.

And I get to see them...

Game in Peoria and one in Milwaukee while the Rivermen play for they're playoff lives. A TJ Reynolds/DJ King tilt would be epic.
