Oh great, now as a 'Hawks fan, I not only have to deal with Antoine Roussel, but now Steve Ott... I'm gonna miss playing against Chris Stewart often, he's a fun one to watch. Good trade for both teams.

Blues/Sabres trade

Good trade for both teams. Everyone knew Miller would be gone and now he has a chance for a cup. Steve Ott is basically a rental who could be back in Buffalo next season. I hope Chris Stewart stays because he has tremendous upside and could be the Sabres answer to Milan Lucic.

Very true... I'm really looking forward to that match up

But I guess with the picks it inevitably favors the Sabres

I agree.

But I also think Stewart is better than Ott. He is younger, tougher, bigger and has better numbers.

I think he will be gone before he arrives though unfortunately.

Great trade for the Blues. I thought they were the best teak in the league without making a move, this puts them over the top.

The Ott/Stewart is kind of a wash though I think Stewart has more upside left obviously.

I like the trade for the Blues purely on getting Miller new surroundings, but the Sabres might've come out on top of this trade on paper.
I think this could be a steal for the Blues. An upgrade on goaltending and possibly an upgrade in Ott with the way Stewart has been playing recently 1st rounder is gonna be a late one as well

Stewart is definitely better offensively and obviously a much better fighter but is also quite lazy. In that regard Ott is a better fit for St. Louis than Stewart was.

Glad Armstrong could pull the trigger on this one. It helps that the Sabers are eating 20% of Millers contract this year. Halak wasn't going to cut it. Stewart needs to be consistent or else he'll be playing for 15 different teams in his career. Guess I'll have to start liking Ott.

Kaleta is not gone. He is injured and is out for the season. Ott is ufa and there is a small chance he would sign back with sabres.

The trade doesn't surprise me in the least since for the last week both TSN and Sportsnet hockey guys have talked about this deal verbatim. I do wonder though how well Stewart (assuming he stays) will mesh with Nolan. Nolan is a players coach but he still expects a high energy constant level of commitment and Stewart has been lacking that consistancy. Great deal for the Blues though. With both Ott and Backes at centre they have a nasty duo there.

Few things about Sabre backup goalie last night. Once on a life time experience. He's from Lancaster.
