COLUMBUS, OHIO – The
Columbus Blue Jackets have made their first roster moves of training camp today, assigning six players to the
Syracuse Crunch, the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, returning three draft picks to their respective junior clubs and releasing six others from their tryout contracts, General Manager Scott Howson announced. The current training camp roster currently consists of 52 players.
The six players assigned to Syracuse were: forwards Chris Higgins,
Brock McBride and
Tyler Murovich and defensemen Cam Brodie,
Tim Filangieri and
Kevin Roeder.
The three Blue Jackets draft picks who were returned to their European/junior clubs were: forward Tomas Kubalik (Plzen, Czech Elite League) and defensemen
Steven Delisle (Gatineau, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League) and
David Savard (Moncton, Quebec Major Junior Hockey League).
In addition, the club released forwards
Matt Caria,
Andrew Clark and
Cass Mappin; defensemen
Paul Bezzo and
Spencer McAvoy and goaltender Jamie Tucker.
