COLUMBUS, OHIO --- The
Columbus Blue Jackets today announced that defenseman Dalton Prout has been recalled from the
Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League. Prout, 22, has recorded 1-8-9 and 73 penalty minutes in 40 appearances with the Falcons this season.
Originally selected by Columbus in the sixth round, 154th overall, in the 2010 NHL Draft, Prout skated in five games with the Blue Jackets last season, registering a plus/minus rating of +1 as well as five hits and two shots on goal. The 6-3, 219-pound rearguard has appeared in 102 career AHL games with the Falcons, tallying 5-17-22 in addition to 127 penalty minutes and a +3 plus/minus rating.
A native of LaSalle, Ontario, Prout recorded 17-49-66 in 286 career Ontario Hockey League games with Barrie, Sarnia and Saginaw between 2006 and 2011. He signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Blue Jackets on July 1, 2011.
