COLUMBUS, OHIO – The
Columbus Blue Jackets have placed left wing
Raffi Torres on Injured Reserve, club General Manager Scott Howson announced December 2. Torres will be sidelined at least one week.
Torres, 27, has registered one goal and three assists for 14 points with eight penalty minutes in 14 games with Columbus this season. He scored his first goal as a Blue Jacket, the game-winner, against the
Washington Capitals on November 29. He was acquired from the
Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Gilbert Brule on July 1.
Torres missed the first 10 games of the season due to a shoulder injury he suffered during a preseason game against Chicago on September 29. Last season with the Oilers, he registered 5-6-11 and 36 penalty minutes in 32 games. The
New York Islanders' second pick, fifth overall, in the 2000 Entry Draft has tallied 68-62-130, 263 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +6 in 321 career games with the Blue Jackets, Oilers and Islanders.
