Blue Jackets Place Peca, Foote and Modin on IR
COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Blue Jackets placed defenseman Adam Foote, left wing Fredrik Modin and center Michael Peca on Injured Reserve today to reduce the team's roster to 23 players, club General Manager Scott Howson announced.

Modin (back spasms) was placed on Injured Reserve retroactive to September 14, while Foote (strained hamstring) was assigned retroactive to September 15 and Peca (groin strain) was assigned retroactive to September 17. Modin, Foote and Peca each missed Columbus' eight-game preseason schedule. Each is listed as day-to-day and eligible to be activated off Injured Reserve at any time.

I heard that Foote and Modin are probably for Friday, and Peca is doubtful.

They all did well on the ice yesterday, but Foote said he probably wont make it against Anaheim tomorrow. Problem with Foote is he's getting old and slow, just like Shelley.

Give me a break, Foote is soon 37 years old, at that age the NHL becomes real tough. Losing energy faster (gets slower), injuries comes more often...it's only natural.

Shelley isn't that old though, he's 31. So he may still have some energy left
