Blue Jackets Place Jared Boll on IR; Recall Nikita Filatov
COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Jared Boll on injured reserve (head/neck injury) and recalled forward Nikita Filatov from the Syracuse Crunch, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager Scott Howson announced October 15.

Boll, who has registered 11 penalty minutes in three games this season after tallying 5-5-10 and a team-high 226 penalty minutes in 75 games as a rookie in 2007-08, is expected to be sidelined seven to 10 days. Filatov has scored two goals with a +1 plus/minus rating in two games with the Crunch, scoring goals in each of the first two games of his pro career. He tallied 1-0-1 and added a shootout game-winner in two preseason games with the Blue Jackets this year.

Columbus' first pick, sixth overall, in the 2008 Entry Draft, Filatov tallied 32-34-66 and 90 penalty minutes in 34 games with CSKA of the Russian Junior League in 2007-08. The 18-year-old Moscow native also helped Russia capture the bronze medal at the 2008 World Junior Championships, tallying 4-5-9, 10 penalty minutes and was +7 in seven games.

If Mirasty ever had a chance, this was it. What a joke, hopefully C-Bus pays for it, but we always say that, and it rarely happens.... Give JonJon his chance, yes, Filatov is a stud, but replacing Boll with him makes absolutely no sense...

They can't call up Mirasty. He's not Columbus property. He got outright released from his tryout.

He's on a one-way deal with Syracuse.

I hope they don't plan on putting Filatov on the 4th line...what a waste that would be.

To replace a 4th liner you need to call up a gritty player...not a skill player.

His contract could very easily be rolled over to a two way deal at anytime. Columbus has the room to do it.

Exactly, if they could afford Filatov's entry level salary, they could easily have signed Mirasty to a two way entry level deal.

I hope he is on the 1st or 2nd line Ide love to see him score his first NHL goal in his first game,Hopefully it turns into a fulltime callup!
