Blue Jackets Place Dorsett on IR

COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed forward Derek Dorsett on Injured Reserve retroactive to November 19, General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Dorsett was injured against Dallas on November 19. He has registered one goal and three assists for four points, 51 penalty minutes and a +2 plus/minus rating in 18 games this season. He ranks tied for ninth in the NHL in penalty minutes. The Kindersley, Saskatchewan native tallied 4-1-5 and 150 penalty minutes in 52 games during his rookie season in 2008-09. He was the Blue Jackets’ ninth pick, 189th overall, in the 2006 Entry Draft.

Hopefully this gets Sestito into the lineup on a regular basis. Hell knows my PIM team could use that.
