Blackhawks Sign Center Yanic Perreault
General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have signed free agent center Yanic Perreault to a 1-year contract.
“Perreault is a veteran forward who brings with him a lot of skill and point production,” said Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon. “He is one of the best face-off men in the league and will definitely help us on our special teams, especially the power play.” Perreault, 36, split last season between the Phoenix Coyotes and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He began the season with Phoenix appearing in 49 games scoring 19 goals to go along with 14 assists for 33 points with 30 penalty minutes. He finished the season with the Maple Leafs appearing in 17 games scoring two goals and five points with four penalty minutes. He was originally drafted by the Leafs in the 3rd round of the 1991 NHL Entry Draft. In his NHL career, Perreault has appeared in 806 regular season games scoring 238 goals while adding 264 assists for 502 points. He has also played in 54 career playoff games scoring 11 goals to go along with 19 assists for 30 points.

to relieve some pressure of Jonathan Toews, this is probably a better signing then Peter Bondra last season.
not bad money though, the guy can still play, the Leafs just didn't utilize him properly.
