Dowell has appeared in 17 games for Rockford scoring five goals to go along with nine assists for 14 points with 24 penalty minutes and a +1 rating. He also has scored one shorthanded goal. He has never played in an NHL game.

Dowell, 22, was the Blackhawks’ 5th round pick (140th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft out of the University of Wisconsin. Dowell and current Blackhawks forward Adam Burish were teammates on the 2005-06 NCAA Champion Wisconsin Badgers.

Dave Bolland was recalled by the Blackhawks from Rockford on October 26th. In 10 games for the Blackhawks, Bolland had three assists and six penalty minutes. He recorded his first NHL point with an assist at Dallas on October 31st.

I didnt think bolland was doing so hot.As a matter of fact,I was pissed at Savard for putting him on the power-play.I Ddont know much about Versteeg, but I see Dowell has fought 2 pretty tough guys in Adam Keefe and Peter Vandermeer.

He would have to clear waivers if he played more, that's why he was sent down.
