Blackhawks Recall Richmond, Koci
Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled defensemen Danny Richmond and David Koci from the Norfolk Admirals.

Richmond, 22, is a 6'0", 194 lb. defenseman from Chicago, Illinois. This will be his fourth stint with the Blackhawks in 2006-07, as he has skated in seven games with Chicago this season going scoreless with five penalty minutes.

With the Admirals this season, Richmond has 10 goals and 24 assists with 142 penalty minutes in 54 games. Richmond also appeared in 34 regular season and Calder Cup Playoff games with Norfolk last season, scoring four goals and adding nine assists with 44 penalty minutes. In 189 career AHL regular season and Calder Cup Playoff matches, Richmond has 22 goals and 55 assists with 393 penalty minutes.

Richmond was acquired by the Blackhawks along with a 2006 4th round draft pick from the Carolina Hurricanes for Anton Babchuk and a 2007 4th round draft pick on January 20, 2006. Originally drafted by Carolina in the second round (31st overall) of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Richmond has skated in 27 NHL games in his career with one assist and 30 penalty minutes.

Koci (pronounced "koh-CHEE"), 25, is a 6'6", 238 lb. defenseman from Prague, Czech Republic. He has never appeared in an NHL game.

Koci has skated in 39 games for Norfolk this season, registering one assist and 212 penalty minutes - the second-highest PIM total in the AHL this season. In 243 career AHL regular season and Calder Cup Playoff games, Koci has three goals and 20 assists with 984 penalty minutes.

Koci was originally drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth round (146th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He played one season at Prince George in the Western Hockey League before playing for both Wheeling (ECHL) and Wilkes-Barre (AHL) over the past five seasons.

Unless Byfuglien was carrying Richmond's bags, it was Byfuglien not Richmond that went to Chicago.

That's great because I like Richmond more than Byfuglin. Byfuglin would be good if he would just learn how to fight. Because he throws some great checks.

Unless the Blackhawks web page and Norfolk web page are wrong, it was Richmond who got called up.

Really great,great news !!! Nice job Dale Tallon ! I hope that David Koci will be second fighter from Czech Republic since 98/99 season when Roman Vopat played for Philadelphia Flyers!
He and Low could be a great duo ....so let's show some tricks David !
