Blackhawks recall Goaltender Salak
Chicago Tribune
By K.C. Johnson, Tribune reporter 11:17 a.m. CDT, October 12, 2011 The Chicago Blackhawks recalled goaltender Alexander Salak from the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs on Wednesday. That initially led to speculation that Corey Crawford, who sat the last two days to rest a sore groin, might miss a third straight practice. However, Crawford, who started the Hawks' first two games as they split with the Dallas Stars, is in goal at the United Center for the 11 a.m. practice. Backup Roy Emery is not.
