Blackhawks Recall Brandon Bollig From Rockford
The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forward Brandon Bollig from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.
Bollig, 25, has registered a career-high six assists and nine points (3G, 6A) in 53 contests with Rockford this year, and ranks seventh in the AHL with a team-high 163 penalty minutes. Originally signed as a free agent following a collegiate career at St. Lawrence University, the St. Charles, Missouri, native has notched eight goals, seven assists and 285 penalty minutes in 111 regular-season tilts over parts of three seasons (2010-12) with the IceHogs. |

I was hopeful that Bollig would be a fixture on this Hawks roster for quite a while, lets hope he's playing and makes the most of it.

He's not the typical heavyweight that goes and picks fights. Believe it or not, he has pretty decent hockey sense. Chicago just doesn't use heavyweights effectively. The post-lockout teams have reflected that.

Also means Rockford might dress old Wade Brookbank now, everyone's a winner. |
