Blackhawks Re-Sign Koci
Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have re-signed forward/defenseman David Koci.
Koci, 26, 6’6”, 238 lbs. native of Prague, Czech Republic split time last season between the Norfolk Admirals (AHL) and the Chicago Blackhawks. For the Blackhawks last season, Koci appeared in nine games going scoreless while recording 88 penalty minutes. In his NHL debut with the Blackhawks at Phoenix he posted 42 penalty minutes. For the Norfolk Admirals, Koci played in 44 games recording one assists and 223 penalty minutes. Koci was selected by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the 5th round (146th overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He spent four seasons (2002-03 to 2005-06) with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, Pittsburgh’s AHL affiliate. He appeared in only 13 games in 2005-06 due to injury. In 2004-05, Koci set new career-highs in assists (8), points (9) and penalty minutes (311) while playing in 68 games for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Last edited by Thrillhouse; 06-29-2007 at 09:34 AM. |

Let's hope he's not constantly playing ping-pong between the NHL and the A. He's seems to thrive on being the resident enforcer for the Hawks, and die-hard Chicago fans just found another reason to buy tickets!
