Blackhawks Name Pierre Gauthier Director of Player Personnel

The Chicago Blackhawks have hired former Canadiens, Senators and Ducks general manager Pierre Gauthier as their new director or player personnel.

Gauthier was fired by the Canadiens as GM on March 29 and eventually replaced by former Hawks assistant GM Marc Bergevin. Prior to working in Montreal, Gauthier was GM with the Senators and Ducks.

The 59-year-old Gauthier has been attending the Hawks' prospect camp in Chicago this week and watched from the stands while seated next to Hawks head coach Joel Quenneville as players went through drills Tuesday.

After hearing the Gill and Cammalleri stories come out, after they left the franchise, I was shocked the Gauthier was such an AZZ HOLE, nobody has a good thing to say about him, He was described as an Egotistical Dictator, who would never want anybody around that knew more than him, so basically Montreal was a one man band, lead by a deaf guy......

I like the Hawks, so I don't wish Pierre Gauthier on them or on anybody else, well maybe the Leafs and Bruins, just kidding...

I have no idea why, or for what reason the Hawks - or any team - would want this cock sucker anywhere near their franchise, nonetheless working for them.

Pierre Gauthier is a nightmare.

Good luck with that, Chicago.

What the hell was Chicago thinking?

Bergevin for Gauthier. I'll take that anyday.

Yeah no doubt and the more I hear Bergevin interview or talk about the future I like him more and more and if I was in the NHL I would keep Pierre Gauthier locked in a cellar with Pierre McGuire and help the world get a little better

Hey, at least he isn't GM.

But that's a bad step for Chicago. If Pierre Gauthier was hired, it's because the direction and Gauthier had views in common about hockey, and everyone knows that Gauthier hates tough and big sized players. Even Jacques Martin said "with the rules being in place, we always targetted small and fast players". Says a lot of PG.

He's basically been a leader in "mediocre teams" department. Generally as soon as you add Gauthier to the mix, your team starts to decline (as a GM anyway). I am not sorry he's gone in Montreal, but I'd be very nervous to have him as a Chicago fan.

Have to admit this personnel move by the Hawks is a real head scratcher! Who did Pierre blow to land this job? Seriously, after Montreal, this guy should be banished from the league for all eternity!

I actually used to think this too... but lets take a look at some of the FA he has signed.
Scott
Mayers
Carcillo
Montador
Brookbank

its not like he's ignored the toughness dept.

Regarding the Gauthier, did not know the overall opinion of him.
What exactly will his job responsibilities include with the Bowman's running the show.
