Avalanche Ink Per Ledin to One-Year Deal

The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that it has signed forward Per Ledin to a one-year contract.

Ledin, 29, spent this past season with HV 71 Jonkoping of the Swedish Elite League, where he tallied 33 points (16g/17a) and 137 penalty minutes in 52 games. The left winger finished third on the team in penalty minutes, fifth in goals and sixth in points. He also appeared in all 17 playoff games for Jonkoping, which captured the league title.

“Per Ledin will add a different dimension to our team,” said Avalanche Assistant to the General Manager Michel Goulet. “We believe his gritty style of play will benefit our club in the upcoming 2008-09 season.”

The Lulea, Sweden, native represented his country at the 2008 IIHF World Championship in Halifax/Quebec City, recording five points (0g/5a) in seven games. The 6-0, 194-pound winger has spent most of his professional career in Sweden but did play 27 games for the Baton Rouge Kingfish of the East Coast Hockey League in 2000-01.

Who? I'm usually not a fan of these no-name Euro signings but this one isn't like all the rest:

Will he make the big club?

They better suit up Parker to protect him against the big boys.
I hope we can get 2-4 fights a season from him.
Probably not.

Per is number 97 in the wite jersey, you can also see Andreas Jämtin number 50 in the same team, I think the Islanders signed him..

Per Ledin is a very gritty but also skilled forwad...He played very well for Sweden in the World Championship in Cananda this year..
He likes to trashtalk and finish his checks...
