Avalanche Activate May From the IR

DENVER – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that it has activated forward Brad May from the Injured Reserve (IR) list.

May, 35, has been out the entire season with a shoulder injury suffered during a preseason game on Sept. 25 against Detroit. He underwent reconstructive surgery on Sept. 28.

The Avalanche also announced today that the club has reassigned forward Antti Laaksonen to Albany of the American Hockey League.

It will take a few games for May to get his feet wet again. After all the guy has been out a half a year, but he will get the hang of things again. I hope that he takes on either Thornton or Parros on Saturday, but I highly dount he will. I think he will end up with 2 or 3 fights for the year. Like one of the posters above said, Lappy should be happy about this, I dont think he will change his play style nor should he, but at least he doesnt have to worry about fightin the heavies, and he can focus more on putting the puck in the net. Anywayz, good to see Brad back!

I'm hoping that perhaps watching Lappy do it all by himself while he had so sit on the sideline has made May all itchy to get in there and clean house a little so to speak. Either way this is good news and nice to see him back.

just realized, i would much rather have waived Turgeon over Laaksonen, even though Laaks has been invisible as has Turgeon, but hes younger, and costs a hell of a lot less to keep.

Lappy is breathing a sigh of relief I'm sure. He may need a breather.
