Brennan Evans would have been a good 7th d-man.

Ducks are taking a long look at Brett Festerling instead.

Looks like Bobby Ryan made the team, with Lindstrom being his main competition for the 6th scoring line winger spot.

It looks like Montador beat out both Sean O'Donnell and Brennan Evans for the physical d-man spot in Anaheim.

Looks like the Ducks defense is set. I had thought there was still an 8th d-man in camp, but I was wrong.

Niedermayer-Beauchemin
Pronger-Klee
Huskins-Montador
Festerling

The following players have to clear waivers on the way down to the AHL:

Evans, Lindstrom, Green, LeNeveu

They are in a better position to contend this season compared to last because Selanne and Scott Niedermayer are with the team from the beginning. Everything looks good right now:

2 scoring lines:

Ryan-Getzlaf-Perry
Kunitz-Morrison-Selanne

Shutdown line:

Moen-Pahlsson-Niedermayer

Energy line:

Some combination of May, Sutherby, Parros, Marchant, Carter

Same defensive core from the championship team...Pronger, Niedermayer, Beauchemin. Klee in place of O'Donnell, Montador an upgrade from DiPenta.

Good Goaltending with Giguere and Hiller.

As far as toughness goes they are about the same as last season:

Parros, May, Moen, Sutherby are all back. Montador is in, O'Donnell is out.
