I agree. What surprises me the most isn't that the Sharks improved so much but that the Ducks would deal with a team just up the road.

That is what I hate, thought he would go east! The Sharks got 2 good PK'ers plus more grit and Cup experience to go along with guys like Clowe and a stacked team which will help their playoff run.. I like what they did, Ducks gave up on the season when they traded Kunitz a week ago....

In toughness term, the Ducks are same as before

Montador = James Wisniewski
They called up Bodie = Moen

brian burke built a great team that the new management has totally traded away. these two to a div rival is shocking, but i guess they are giving up on this year. that stanley cup team was awesome, sad to see them go .

Its really sad to see Moen go, but Ducks would have way too many UFA at the end of the season. They couldnt keep all of them eventually.

Murray is very high on Bonino and maybe its worth it...

In his interview, Murray said that all the Ducks that he traded away wanted to try the FA. So i think it was better to get something for this guys because after around 20 games they would not have been with the Ducks anymore

You talk to Travis, Sammy and Husky. They love it here and wanted to stay here, but they all look at you and say, ‘I’ve got to try free agency’.

You make a good point Gauros, that would explain the moves they made. I was suprised to see Montador and Moen both go but hey you got Wisneiwski from Chicago and he's a tough up and comer. Not as tough as Moen, but I think I read somewhere that the Ducks called up a tough guy for him. The Sharks are ready for a serious run here. They definitely have the team toughness to last the playoffs, and the goaltending. What a year Ryan Clowe's having too huh?

I have been Wings fan for over 10 years now, actually longer since the bruise brothers, and San Jose since 2000 was the team I always wanted the Wings to avoid in the playoffs. They just always would play tough! This years playoffs are going to be exciting!

The ducks called up Troy Bodie and i think he can play the Moen roll very well, and he is younger. Murray is trying to make the team younger and faster without losing too many of their key players.

In term of toughness, they didnt lose much, Wisneiwski = Montador, Bodie = Moen but i think they did pretty well with the trades. They got players and picks for UFAs that didnt want to sign with them anymore. The Ducks are very very happy with Brown and he has been moved to the 3rd line and is one of the main PKers in the team.

San Jose's problem is, too little skill though.
They have a power/toughness but i think it isn't enough still for the cup.
In my mind Detroit is so good team.
Boston is very good one too.
How about Washington??
Devils is famous defensive team which plays of dull hockey like San Jose though.
The playoffs-time is very interesting.

T.Moen is SOLID add for Sharks.

Detroit definitely has the skill to put the puck in the net, I heard on the game last night Ken Daniels said they're the only team to have 5 guys with 50 points on or it could've been 6 guys I'm not sure. Detroit needs work on Defense or goaltending. We give up too many goals and in the playoffs I have seen 1-0 games. It's going to be interesting. San Jose's goaltending could really keep the Sharks in the running and they could go deep into the playoffs. I wouldn't be suprised to see San Jose vs. Detroit for conference finals.
