^^^Hilarious.

For all the whining on this forum you would think people would be happy that a tough player avoids a suspension....but he is wearing a Bruins sweater.

In fact if you actually watch the video it's not McQuaid's knee that hit's Foligno's knee it's actually McQuaid's shin that gets Foligno. But don't let that get in the way of the upcoming whine fest.

It's not the fact "a tough player" avoids a suspension. It's the fact that players are getting suspended left right and center for bull****, and when someone actually does something worth one they get off the hook.

I guess homers see what they want to see when they watch videos.

Thats exactly it. I believe the announcement for the Porter suspension came soon after it was known Booth was going to miss 4-6 weeks. The fact Foligno didn't miss a shift obviously worked very well in McQuaid's favour here. McQuaid is damn lucky he hit mostly quad/thigh rather than knee, because just an inch lower and that could have been real ugly. Instead Foligno skates away with I'm sure is a very painful charlie horse.

It was a real stupid and lazy play - but the fact he got the major and a game was deemed enough punishment already by the NHL. I wouldn't have minded seeing him get a couple games - just because he is a Bruin(!) and this is someone's knee we're talking about here - but really, in this situation overall, the fine and a stern warning is probably enough.

Wow. I know they've been heavily factoring in injury when making a decision on subsequent discipline. But in my opinion, a suspendable action should be a suspendable regardless of the player's history and the injury sustained. The length of the suspension should be impacted by those factors, but when a dangerously reckless knee-on-knee hit takes place, it shouldn't just be shrugged off because there wasn't a severe injury (especially when using the pocket change-fine system currently in place under the CBA). I like McQuaid, and don't think he's a dirty player, but this was a really dangerous play and should have gotten at least a game or two. Foligno could just have easily ended up on the shelf like Booth did courtesy of Porter. Just because Foligno got lucky shouldn't completely absolve McQuaid here.

I said that last night when I saw the hit and people were ready to come to Boston to fight me. Call'em as I see em. With a little bias.

Watch it again buddy, is it McQuaid's knee that hits Foligno or not? Foligno's dips his knee down and McQuaid trips him. Should have only been a 2 minute minor actually.....

Yeah but do really think people are going to miss a chance to bash the Bruins and create conspiracies? I don't think so......

Its clearly McQuaids shin @ 0:03. Still very dangerous play so I'm not pissed at the fine of the game misconduct.

Its tough for some of these commenters to see past the spoked B.

Well in fairness it does have to with a Bruin so we should have a say. I wish I could have freeze framed it at :03 and posted it. Not knee on knee.

FattPatt,

Look at what all the other Bs fans posted on the first page and then look what you posted.

Your posting is just f*cking ridiculous. Every time your drivel shows up on these boards it's guaran****ingteed to ruin the thread you post it in. Is it that difficult for you to look at things logically and objectively and just say "McQuaid was lucky to get away with that one?" Instead, you choose to bait the rest of the forum by calling them "whiners" when you have to know damn well no one will see it the way you see it.

Knee, shin, who gives a sh*t? It was a dirty move, all other Bruins fans who posted so far condemned it, yet here you are defending it as if he didn't do anything wrong.

Having a say is one thing but shameless homerism is another.

You're taught in atoms not to stick a leg out when an opponent is going by you. It really doesn't make a difference what part of McQuaid's leg hit what part of Foligno's leg; the intent was there.

From what I've seen of him (besides this obviously) McQuaid is a fairly honest player so I'm not "whining" for a suspension or anything like that but for FatPatt (and now you) to be defending it is just absurd.

I give a sh*t. Knee on knee is more of an attempt to end someones career, while sticking your shin out seems to be more of a tripping play. Still dangerous, but not to the same degree.

I know, I'm a newbie so you dont have to take my word for it.
