And the trend continues...

Leafsnation420 12-15-2011 05:55 PM

When does it stop? This is a joke. I'm not trying to bash McQuaid, but that knee was brutal. Two games would have still been satisfying.

RCSheppy 12-15-2011 05:58 PM

Good, that wasn't even a knee - Foligno clearly took a flop in order to draw that call...

Seriously though, he should have got 2-3 games for it, i didn't like it... stupid move.

srehm1 12-15-2011 05:59 PM

I had a feeling he would just get a fine for this. It was a bad play but McQuiad had a few things going for him: 1-He's not a repeat offender 2-Foligno was not injured and came back on the next shift, and 3-He's a Bruin.

was this not pretty much the exact same play that Porter got 4 games for??? how is that fair

Let the crying begin... :bored:

Broons66 12-15-2011 06:15 PM

Im mildly surprised he didnt get at least two. But as a homer,im glad he got off with a fine. Stupid move,he usually plays a straight up honest game. I dont think we will see a repeat occurance.

Mclaren14 12-15-2011 06:34 PM

Once again the Bruins escape a suspension,1st its Lucic and now its Mcquaid when is the bullsh*t gonna end, Tootoo got suspended for running into Miller and Porter for kneeing Booth, but both Bruin players get off thr hook with fines, funny how the NHL works these days

I think the difference is that Booth is out 4-6 weeks and Foligno came right back on the next shift.

Apparently Nick and Adam are buddies and were former teammates in junior.

JKidd 12-15-2011 07:20 PM

A very stupid play from a normally honest player.

I'm shocked he didn't get at least 2 games for this blatant, ugly knee to knee.

Then again, Ryan Whitney didn't even get a fine for this one, so maybe the league forgot there are parts of the body below the shoulders.

Ryan Whitney 'knee on knee' hit on Clutterbuck ...

The league should make videos regarding what type of plays get fines and which ones get suspensions. That was a pretty blatant knee (and I'm a big Adam McQuaid fan).

More goes into it than just what type of play gets a suspension/fine. Intent, injury, and player history are the 3 major factors in determining the punishment.

Im surprised he didnt get 2 games, but player history probably played into the decision.

How the hell did they come up with a decision in less than 24 hours and several others have taken a week?
