Derek Meech wasn't even worth the $480k we paid him last season.

I'm interested to see what Ian White gets. Very underrated, doubt he gets overpaid.

The fact the Flamers bought out Nigel Dawes is a sign they're clearing some room to give him a healthy raise. I'm sure Sutter will find a way to overpay him though....

Interested to see how Mason Raymond ends up - one of the guys on HNIC said on-air that Raymond is easily a 3 or 4 million dollar/year player - if Raymond believes talk like that it could be a rough arbritation case, if it gets that far.

Niemi is gonna get a big raise, so is Moulson i think, 30 goal scorer on a bad Islanders team.

By the way is D. Clarkson re-signed?

In other words you could also say: AHL player lucky to play on a line with Tavares.

actually buying out dawes doesn't do much cause it only opens up 600k or so, which isn't gonna be enough to help give white his raise.

Devils Re-Sign David Clarkson to Three-Year Deal

and as ciccarelli states below, moulson is nothing but an ahl'er who had the luxury of playing with tavares and 1st line pp minutes.

Didn't his agent say he was worth 50 million or something ridiculous like that?

EDIT:

Quote:
Speaking to a Danish TV station, Bjarne Madsen — one of Regin’s European agents — suggested Regin could get an offer sheet similar to the $50- million deal received by Buffalo’s Thomas Vanek in 2007 from the Edmonton Oilers.

Regin, 24, was one of the Sens’ top players in the first- round series against the Penguins with seven points. He made $620,000 last season.

“We’re talking in two different worlds right now,” Madsen told tvsport2.dk. “The club is talking one language and we’re talking another. Peter would like to be in Ottawa and Ottawa would like to keep him, so I wonder if we’ll find common ground soon.”

Thanks for the info on the Clarkson signing, had missed that one.

Moulson may not be the most talented player, but he still managed to put up 30 goals. Thats more than lets say Toews and the same as Kane. And before you say something, I know that I really cant compare him with Toews and Kane, i´m just making a point. In my book 30 goals is a good feat and has to be more than what was excpected when they signed him.
