I haven't posted in this thread in over 2 years. Honestly I was happy for awhile. The Devils had some scrappers in Rupp, Salvador and Clarkson. They had LeBlond up for a time and it was great. The Flyers are tough, the Rangers play Orr nearly every game. They had Reitz, Dubinsky will give a handful of fights, even the Islanders had Jackman every night even when Fritz wasn't there. The Pens of course had a couple guys who would go, so I was set.

Now I hope they just pull the plug. Maybe it's how irate that poor excuse of a hockey guy, I'm sorry, girl, Pierre McGuire makes me, or the proposed rule changes but really, just do it. This slow death is driving me insane. I'll never understand guys who don't get that no matter how clean the hit is, you stick up for your teammates and don't allow the other team to run all over you all night.

Just ban fighting so I can weep and mourn and get it over with already. I fear that the NHL I love will never be back in any capacity. Asinine and unnecessary rule changes, it's like the NHL takes their cues from Facebook and constantly makes changes when they aren't needed. I just can't take it anymore. 22 years of being a fan, ever since I was a little kid, and I get more excited by the choreographed and fake emotion of professional wrestling than I do over the NHL anymore.

Just do it. Put the cages on, outlaw "aggressive" checking and turn this into women's hockey. You're well on your way Gary Bettman, just go ahead and finish the job so I can move on and get over it already.

The way the Redwings play is ruining hockey. They are consistently at the top, and they do it with this Euro-style of play that drives me insane. They've become the "gold standard" in the NHL. Guys go there to win the Cup, and they will play for a fraction of the dollars they could make for a different club. It's a never ending cycle. I don't think they even get out of single digits in fighting majors this year. SAD

Very well put, I could not have said it better myself. I have seen my last nhl game and I won't pay 1 more cent to go to ahl "action" either unless things make a drastic change for the better which will never happen. From now on my only exposer to hockey will be coming here and DYG to catch some fight clips and the odd EPHL game where the talent level may be comparably low but the on ice play is 100% better and the players are allowed to play actual hockey!

F bettman!!! He needs to go. Has everyone heard the conspiracy btwn nba and nhl? NHL was getting too much of a share of the $$$ so (I think his name is Stern) the NBA commish appointed bettman, ever since, the league has stunk. BTW, he's a reptilian shape-shifter!!! HA!
