1) Montreal Vs Philadelphia = No Fights!
22 Minor Penalties And One Dirty Look!

2) Boston Vs Atlanta = No Fights!
25 Minor Penalties And One Bodycheck!

3) Carolina Vs Florida = No Fights!
17 Minor Penalties And One Threat!

4) Phoenix Vs Detriot = No Fights!
18 Minor Penalties And One Facewash!

5) Ny Islanders Vs Anaheim = No Fights!
29 Minor Penalties And One Argument!

The Fact That I'm Not Paying A Dime To Watch This Garbage = Priceless!

hey easy on Atlanta, at least they have multiple guys that will fight and they do hit.

Can't help they have played Tampa Bay 2x and Florida.
Two teams in which the toughest player THAT PLAYS ...is perhaps..Chris Gratton.

Atlanta needs dance partners and they will fight.

Eric Boulton - HW Enforcer, zero ice time this year. Literaly.

Greg de Vries - LHW , on occasion fights heavies.

Garnet Exelby - HW , extremely punishing hitter. Resident muscle when no Bolts.

Shane Hnidy - LHW , physical player

Bobby Holik - physical player, hitter

Ilya Kovalchuk - Fights when pissed / has to

Brad Larsen - MW , Fights when has to, physical sometimes. Sadly he replaced Francis Lessard.

Scott Mellanby - LHW - When has too, old guy, physical player.

Jon Sim - physical player , scrums , will mix it up when defending a teammate.

Jim Slater - energy player , scrums , I see him fighting by way of "no choice" if a brawl breaks out. lol (optimistic)..he hits.

Andy Sutton - HW , not interested in fighting, physical player , hitter.
Will defend teammates.

Vitaly Vishnevski - extremly punishing hitter

Braydon Coburn - LHW ? , physical at times (injured)

That isn't bad compared to most teams IMO.

I cant take it.. I cant take it. Can you EVER remember a Flyers/Rangers game with no passion? Please ****ing tell me!!!! I remember Flyers/Rangers Flyers/Caps would be so ****ing awesome. I would be pumped all day. The old spectrum would be so loud after a Dave Brown fight I thought I was at a concert when I got home.

Well, here is the question. What can we do? Noone cares but us it seems. I wrote letters to the NHL, and the Flyers. I never got a reply. **** this sport. It can blow me! Now I feel better.

Ron Duguay is tougher than most players in the current NHL. He was like a male model..but yet..back then..even he'd drop the gloves and fight. He was a below average fighter, but it did not deter him at all in dropping the gloves and fighting anyone, including toughguys of the famed 80's era..

But what I want to know is where are all the people who didn't like the goon vs goon bout. I remember reading these forums, and regulars harping about the pointless goon vs goon fight at the start of the game.

Where are all of you now ?

You got your wish, and many said "careful what you wish for". No more goon vs goon fights, or all those "passion sparked" fights that people predicted would happen, and make the game better without the 4th line toughguy who can't skate or "play" hockey.

I'd rather see Francis Lessard fight Stephen Peat in the NHL, rather than moving to a new city to watch them in the AHL. I'd rather see Dennis Bonvie get called up, rather reading about a young toughguy like Riley Cote getting sent down.

And I do not pay one cent for anything NHL , other than Direct TV where I skim over a game every now and then, before I lose intrest due to the volume of penalties and lack of rugged play based on the current game.

The shootouts bother me the most. Teams like Dallas dress players like Jussi Jokinen, while Minnesota dresses another guy like Mika Koivu, just becuase they're good at shootouts and one on one breakaways. These guys are practically invisible during regulation or 5 on 5, but the coaches dress them because they know how to undress a goalie and make them look silly, and will come in handy if the team goes into a shootout.

What this does is take away jobs and ice time from tough guys and good all round hard working North American boys. And that just sickens me!

There's my rant!

Good post, canuckfan.

Thats also something thats bothered me; especially Jussi Jokinen. Don't get me wrong, the guy is incredible one on one in the shootout, but he's nowhere to be seen during the rest of the game.

There aren't any ****en fights! I had very little desire to watch the Flyer/Ranger game last night. The players of the 70's would be rolling over in there graves if they got a whiff of this new hockey craptaicular crapfest!....

I've seen very few fights from any other teams except for mine. My team has been dropping the gloves pretty good the past 2 games including most of the preseason. I can agree that fighting has went down to the point where you want to break your tv. But hang in there for a few months then decide to hate the NEW NHL.

I am watching the Thrashers / Bruins..when Direct TV has a signal due to bad thunderstorms.

Vishnevski for Atlanta , Allberts and Chara for the B's..have played physical, and Brookbank had a little over a minute of ice time.
Boulton is challenging people in the press box to a thumb wrestling war, but he has no takers thus far.

F' the new NHL. F' the Flyers for lying about Cote. F' the Lightning F' the Hurricanes F' the Canucks F' Detroit F' all the teams who healthy scratch their enforcer so that some generic penalty killer can play 4 minutes.

In Atlanta, there are so many empty seats and the fans look bored out of their mind (even Andy Brickley {Bruins Color Comentator} said how they weren't in it) then said (not sure if it was a joke/serious because I turned it on w/ 7:41 left in the first but he said the Bruins took the crowd out of it. He also criticized some of the "hooking" calls made tonight.

I like Andy Brickley

Atlanta has had a tough team mindset since day 1. The fans expect, and want that. This franchise had Bill Huard, Mark Tinordi on paper before the 1st draft. Obviously opted for Matt Johnson and Denny Lambert... but I for one understand the lack of fan support in Atlanta.
Some of us miss the days of Plett.. even Odgers, Hordichuk, Lessard..

The whistle has not stopped blowing tonight it seems.

somehow, someway a league like the LNAH needs to be televised in the states. it would blow away the pusssie league nhl in ratings if properly handled by a network like spike. the nhl is a complete joke now. i don't really watch anymore because i just get so pissed off that it can literally ruin my night. what reason do i have to watch anyway? enforcers are becoming extinct. pansy euro hockey is taking over, they even changed the rule on the curve of the stick to accomidate the gay euro's coming in. the play is less physical than soccer half the time and it is interupted every 2 minutes for a bull**** phantom call. i can't take it anymore. i gave it a year and that's all i can do.

I think 1/2[at least] of the posters here secretly crave Euro hockey.
