Relocate Canadian teams to southern U.S. to improve ABC ratings

Remove red and blue lines to speed up game

Hire people to sit in stands at Carolina games

I can't even bring myself to attend a Bruins game anymore...because I know it will be a waste of money. Dave Lewis sits Wade Brookbank in the press box for every game...and the one game he did play he saw the ice for about 4 minutes.

I used to go to games all the time, but the "new" NHL is so damn boring that it's a waste. Most of the games feature some light hitting, but no real rough play. There is very little intensity or aggression, which is what USED TO set hockey apart from other team sports.

Bettman will lose out in the end though. Once attendance hits rock bottom and nobody cares anymore, he'll be fired. We all just have to suffer with European hockey until that happens. That's great...

Yeah, I won't be buying Bruins tickets this year. A friend of mine has season tickets so if he offers, I may go. However, I won't be spending a penny on a Bruib's ticket this year.

Look what can happen when fans come unite!

Dear Mr. Bettman:

We would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to a new association created to provide representation for National Hockey League fans across North America. The association – NHLFA.com (National Hockey League Fans' Association) – has been active for about three weeks and already has nearly 600 members. We have no doubt this number will continue to grow as word spreads. Currently, members register at no cost via our web site at www.NHLFA.com. Once we have secured sponsorship, we will expand our membership base by reaching out to hockey fans who lack Internet access.

The prime purpose of NHLFA.com is to give the fans a voice in the NHL. We're confident you would agree that it's reasonable to expect that those who pay the freight should have some measure of involvement in a game which would not exist without them. It is the fans who maintain teams in 26 cities across the continent, it is the fans who pay a large portion of the salaries and it is fans who support the advertisers. And yet, this massive group of people has no organized voice when it comes to matters affecting the game.

NHLFA.com intends to provide that voice and offer a way for fans to make their opinions known.

To that end, we intend to produce a twice-yearly poll of our members to gauge their views on dozens of issues related to hockey today, for example, officiating, rules and rule changes, salaries, rink sizes, cost of attending games, etc. The poll results will be provided to the NHL, the NHLPA, the media and, of course, to our membership.

Also, Mr. Jack Bowerman, CA; CMA, of Nepean, Ontario, has agreed to oversee the accounting requirements of the association, particularly in conducting periodic audits of our membership list.

We look forward to a cooperative working relationship with the NHL, as well as the NHLPA, to ensure the views of fans are considered in decisions affecting the future of NHL hockey in North America. We believe that together, we can make the game better for all concerned.

My point on the post, more so than the organization, NHLFA, was to show all of us that there are ANSWERS for getting what we want! WE DO NOT HAVE TO ACCEPT WHAT'S THROWN AT US! Sitting by and doing nothing is NOT AN OPTION FOR ME! I love hockey to much for that!

3.1% ? Yeah right, more like 13% if not more from what I've seen on the highlight shows and the 5-10 min. that I've watched live.

All set on the polls. Not surprising to me to see pro fighting getting 80% or more of the votes.

The tape I have that has the Hershey/Rochester brawl on it also has some fan interviews in Rochester.Granted this was 1986 but I had to laff as about six people ,when asked, were pro-fighting.

One weener however replied,'I have just moved to Rochester and I'm impressed by the LACK of fighting compared to the NHL'.

Somebody you just wanna reach out and slap.

Hey Smerri, have you ever seen SO MANY EMPTY SEATS for a Bruins home opener?
I have'nt, not even last year. My favorite part of this "new" nhl is the empty seats.
Bad attendance, horrible TV ratings, scoring nearing the clutch and grab era and a stadium that sounds like a morgue.
It won't be long now guys. 2 years tops till hockey returns!
