Waiver Rules Help

I need a bit help with how the waiver works. I noticed that other team can claim other players when a team put the players through waiver. I understand the concept but how come the 2-way contract players can be claimed too?

I thought those 2-way contract players can go through waiver without getting claimed?

Was I wrong at the whole time or did the rule changed?

A 2-way contract only means that the player is to be paid a different salary depending on which league he is playing for. It has no bearing on the waiver process. The only difference could be in the following:

With limited exceptions, any player who was subject to waivers before assignment to the minors must clear re-entry waivers before being called back up if said player is on a one-way contract or a two-way contract with an AHL salary in excess of $105,000

anyone on an entry-level contract (minus a few exceptions) is free from waivers. salary, age and other contract status (coming back from europe or signing contract after having ahl contract) are all factors.

Just wondering because Sabres is stuck with a load of d-men and have to let a couple go. Most likely will be picked up.
