I actually did carry on after calling you a moron, it's about two paragraphs worth of telling you why your view on who should be on the team is ridiculous. Unfortunately, you decided to avoid it, which, in my eyes, means you have nothing relevant or intellegent to say other than your little comments on how I can't carry on a conversation. I guess I should have saved the "you're a moron" part for the end...

Martin St. Louis is out of his league in attempting to make this team as one of the skilled forwards. He isn't able to contribute on the 4th line like the guys I mentioned. That's all this is about.

Rick Nash has a good shot to make the team, but he is definitely a bit overrated.

I think that is a real accurate statement.

I think Savard's passing skills are not really known throughout the league. People on here hate the guys, and that is understandable, but if Savard set up a few snipers on his wings that line would be sick. Look what he made Kessel into this year. The kid scored 42 goals (playoffs included) in his third season.

If we agree that Cindy, Thornton and Getzlaf are the top 3 centers available for the team, the 4th line center maybe more suitable to Vinny of Richards' skill set rather than Savard.

Don't be surprised if a Kid like Jonathan Toews (21 years old) unseats someone that we all think has the team made , he has played in the World Junior tourney and was a standout on the big ice surface , their are a couple young players that could unseat some of the older stars on "D" also ....

Yes, and this is where one of their mistakes is. They have nobody trying to unseed Thornton for his role. I have told many people just to watch Savard for a period or 2 and they are amazed by his skillset every time.

And yes, fansince65, that would be ideal...but they gave a few wrong people the shot at doing so.

Canada will surely have Thorton, Nash, Gagne as a line...
They are salivating at having those 3 together again.

honestly id love Lucic-Richards-Morrow on the 4th line thats a miracle 4th line right there which i think will do better then 4 lines of pure all stars, as canadians if we wanna win we gotta play a canadians game which lucic morrow and richards all do

Yea, I agree. Savard will make you say to yourself: "wtf is he doing????" But on the same shift, you will say "How TF did he do that????"

Actually, after leading the World Championship team in scoring, I'd say St. Louis is very likely to make this team. International experience counts huge.

4 from the flyers all deserve it. Any word on who might be captain?

I dont think you could go wrong with the 3 you choose (Crosby is a guarantee)

I think Savard would flourish though. The say is a stud of a passer, and with the sniper he will have on his wings, and the bigger ice surface, he could be unstoppable.
He once had Heatley and Kovalchuk as his wingers.

Hey guys, stop talking about the "big ice" please when evaluating talent.

For the first time in history, these Olympic games will be played on the NHL size 200-85 sheet instead of the the Olympic size of 200-98.5.

The IOC estimates this will save millions in construction costs and allow thousands more to attend the games.

That huge difference means that you don't need ONLY quick D and fast wingers. You can construct your team more like an NHL squad and that IMO greatly favors Team Canada. They can have guys like Regehr and Pronger on D and bigger wingers that can work down low and crash the net.

Without the rink change, I'd pick the Russians as the favorites, but with the NHL rink I don't know how you can pick against Canada.......
