Interesting. How come there are so many fans of Philadelphia Flyers? The worst team by far in the NHL and they would probably struggle in the AHL too, I guess those fans just happen to live there..

And Detroit Red Wings too, the pussie team who never fights...still got 15 fans in here..

And your logic is?

Philadelphia is the worst team in the leauge and still have fans?

Detroit is probably the best team in the league and still have fans?

The Wings (although I personally hate them, sorry fans of the team) are responsible for having guys like Probert, Howe, Kocur, prime McCarty etc and are an Original Six team and you wonder why they've got fans?!?!? Fvck, how long have you been following hockey?
And the Flyers????? The once-feared Broad Street Bullies? HA!

BTW, compare both of those teams to Columbus who have been in the league how long? Have won how many cups? Their toughest player ever (and no disrespect to him) - Jody Shelley?

So the Wings' past is the reason for all these fans...what you say about the Flyers didn't help much though.

The Wings are a better team than the Blue Jackets, I've never denied that. But this can change next season when the genius Hitchcock can start from scratch..

the flyers have been none as one of the toughest teams/hardest to play at for years. most of that due to its fans.

Then how come they got their asses kicked so badly this season, what happened? Seriously, they need to do something if they wanna look like a tough team again.

Until your Blue Jackets even have a .500 season, you're not justified in ridiculing other teams and their fans.

So you think people just stop being fans when a team isn't winning or isn't tough? You're a fan of the Blue Jackets, for crying out loud. Clearly you can relate to those who are fans of losing teams. And minus Shelley and maybe OKT, the Blue Jackets aren't overly tough either. So why would you question two teams having a lot of fans because they either A) aren't good, or B) aren't tough? You should be able to relate to that perfectly.

Real fans stick with their teams. Just because a team has not been good, tough, or both for a few seasons is not grounds to ditch a team. Clearly those who voted for teams like Philly and Detroit are GOOD HOCKEY FANS! Their team's aren't ideally what they would like them to be, but they are still standing by them. They gained many fans because they were both very strong, physical, successful teams. And now all those fans they won are sticking by them, like real fans should. It's really plain and simple. Clear as day really, and I can't understand how you don't see that. Especially being a Blue Jackets fan yourself.

I understand your points but I was looking at the standings and was surprised finding so many fans of the bottom team is all. And I've only seen negative posts about the Wings except my own when I stated that a team can do well in the NHL without the fighting, but then I was accused of being an anti-fight..

But by all means...good to see that these teams got a lot of support despite the lack of results or fighting. Hopefully you now understand better what I mean about it.

There was no misunderstanding on my part and everything I said still holds true. The only new point you have brought up is the fact that there are a lot of anti-Wing posts, which is a valid argument but still, relative to the number of people who have weighed in here as Wing fans the discrepancy is more than understandable. But there was clearly no misunderstanding, I don't know why you're trying to make it out that way. Again, everything I said in my original post holds true, regardless of any minor amendments you made in your above quoted post.
