Well I was a Red Wings fan during the 90s and I probably watch them the most since living in Michigan, but seeing as how I want them to lose right now, I consider my favorite team the Sharks. Cleveland, where I grew up, was the AHL team for San Jose, so I saw a lot of guys come through the system like Cheechoo, Nabokov, and Clowe before they made it to the NHL. So San Jose has been my favorite for a few years now.

Wild fan since day one of the franchise.

Was a North Stars fan in my childhood years, then kinda followed individual players while the Stars relocated and we had no team.

I think a lot of posters here don't admit that they are Leafs fans as they are not in the playoffs right now. I'm not going to believe there are only 3% Leafs fans over here.

Speaking about when you became a fan of your favorite team, I think it would be more interesting to know why you are fan of your team.
Because of the players that are playing or have been playing for them?
Or simply because it's your hometown team or nearest NHL-franchise?
Or because it's a family tradition to be a fan of the respective team?
Or because you liked/like the logo and colours?
Or because you like the way they are playing?

I'm a Bruins fan since the Italian National team in the late 70's early 80's was build with italo-canadiens the way the Bruins played in the 70's. The Big Bad Bruins where somehow the team the Italian National team was idolizing.

I've been a St. Louis Blues fan my whole life. Been a Blues fan since I was about 5, and I've been a fan for 15-20 years.

the teams in the upper northwest area are where the good hockeytowns in America are located so im gonna guess a team from that area is gonna win. That or a canadian team.

I still voted for the Avs though.
