because winning the calder cup and bringing your team back to defend the next year, and bringing a dead last team all they way up to 3rd in the conference and 1st in the division, winning the Jack Adams award, winning the division and finishing 2nd in the east the next year makes you a crappy coach.

With Boudreau behind the bench, the Caps will never win a Cup.

The guy could get so much more out of his team if he instilled a little bit of defensive awareness into not only Ovechkin, but his entire friggin team. Mike Green is a joke of a defenseman, and hasn't really improved as one, imo. I read somewhere not too long ago that Boudreau lets Ovechkin do his own thing. There's not a player in the NHL that's above getting coached.

He's shown he's a winner from his time with Hershey. Now, he has the best player in the world, and plenty of talent around him. I agree, there's room for improvement- our defense isnt very good and needs an upgrade, but bottom line: Boudreau knows how to win. Remember the turn around this team had from when Hanlon got fired and was replaced by BB. He's doing something right.

Just a no-nothing bandwagon Penguins fan. No need to explain it to him anymore.

He won a friggin minor league championship, good for him, so did Mike Therrien. He inherits Ovechkin, Backstrom, Green, and Semin, and there's more talent added to the team, of course the Caps are going to do well. It's taking them to another level that I am talking about.

Care to actually post something useful for a change, or do you just plan on sticking to your "he's a bandwagoner" schtick?

It was already explained to you. He took a struggling Caps team and made them good.

The "no-nothing bandwagoner" isn't a schtick, it just happens to apply to you; This thread proves the 'no-nothing', and your join date proves the 'bandwagoner' (I won't believe you if you say you were a fan before 08, so don't bother).

Just admit the only reason you posted in this thread is because you dislike OV and you wanted to 'cleverly' mention something that you perceive as a flaw in his game. Provide the quote that says Boudreau lets OV do whatever he wants and doesn't coach him or retract the statement and shut up.

It was in an interview on the fan 590 a couple weeks back. http://www.fan590.com/onair/hockeycentral/ Check out the Oct. 19 podcast if you want to hear it. He basically said his team isn't buying into his system which supposedly preaches defense. When you have a team who won't buy into what the coach is selling, how do you think they'll get to the next level.

This is quality. Quality. My join date proves I am a bandwagon fan. Good stuff. And a no-nothing because I didn't say anything that is wrong. He had success at the minor league level and took a team full of good players to where the coach before them couldn't. Good for him. I haven't ever seen that before.... (see: Therrien, Michel). And how did that work out for Mr. Therrien?

I have nothing against Ovechkin. He's a great offensive player. One of the most dynamic goal scorers ever. It's common knowledge that Ovechkin rarely backchecks. He does not move his feet unless the play is headed toward the offensive zone.

I'll know better next time to ignore anything you have to say because it is likely not to contain anything of value.

You guys can bash Mike Tython all you want, but he is correct when he says that the Caps have problems defensively. Ovechkin, Semin and Green are all offense, all the time, and Green as a defenseman is just brutal in his own zone. Even Caps fans admit this. Unless they shore it up, they are going to have problems come playoff time when every team tightens things up.

well if you can score 5-6 goals every game who needs defence?
