And what it basically says according to one translation:

A Court Doctor, pressed charges on behalf of his patient. Her injuries were horrifying. From a broken nose, choke marks, bruised back, arms, ribs. You can see Oliwa beat a defenseless girl all over her body.

Pretty disappointing as he was a popular guy here a few years back. I was never a fan of him really (I hated his brief stay in NY), but no one is going to like to hear this.

I never heard of Oliwa getting into legal trouble before. I liked him with NJ (1997-2000, not 2005). But this is some pretty serious stuff.

after being welcomed eagerly in his first seasons with NJ, i remember the entire lockerroom and then the front office soured on him quickly - and it was because of the kind of person that he is.

i remember once during a pregame skate he shot a puck as hard as he could into the stands and it just missed some kids. you could see a lot of his fellow players on the ice scowling at him.

Oliwa is the first NHLer I've heard accused of spouse abuse. Does anyone know of others? Even one case is one too many, but it doesn't seem to be a big problem among hockey players as it is in the NFL, NBA and MLB.
